International Relocation

Polonez specializes in helping individuals relocate to Poland and select European countries by providing reliable shipping services for their belongings. Whether you're moving for work, study, or personal reasons, we ensure that your goods are safely transported to your new home abroad. Below, you will find the requirements and necessary documentation to begin the relocation process.

To be eligible for relocation, the following requirements must be met:

1. Documents confirming 12 (twelve) consecutive months of residence in the USA (e.g., tax statements, electricity bills, phone bills, rent receipts, insurance receipts, statement from the employer, etc.) must be submitted to Customs. All documents must be issued in the name of the individual relocating.

2. The original ID of the person relocating, confirming their stay in the USA (passport, visa, US driver’s license, etc.).

3. The original return plane ticket or boarding pass.

4. A completed Customs declaration form.

5. An invoice detailing the costs of relocation.

6. Documents proving permanent address in Poland (e.g., registration receipt issued by Town/City Hall including PESEL number, notarized rental agreement, notarized house/apartment title, etc.).

7. Polish Identity Card (dowód osobisty) or a document proving that an application for a Polish Identity Card has been submitted.

8. A detailed list of possessions being relocated. The list must include categories of items (e.g., clothes, furniture), the number of items, and their approximate value in US dollars. If a vehicle is being shipped, the year, make, and VIN must be included. Even if possessions are shipped in separate shipments, a completed list must be submitted with the first part of the shipment. Once submitted, the list cannot be altered. Please use the relocation form found HERE.

9. Additional documentation is required if a car is being shipped as part of the relocation:

  • The original Certificate of Title,
  • The original invoice or Bill of Sale, specifying the name of the owner, their address, or a certificate proving the car’s value,
  • Car registration documentation in the USA, showing that the car was registered in the name of the person relocating for at least 6 (six) consecutive months prior to shipment. The 6-month period must be completed before the date of the stamp on the Customs form,
  • Documents proving that the car was insured for at least 6 months prior to shipment,
  • If the registration plates were returned to the DMV, an original document proving the registration must be submitted.

ALL POSSESSIONS BEING SENT AS PART OF THE RELOCATION MUST BELONG TO THE RELOCATING INDIVIDUAL AND MUST HAVE BEEN IN THEIR POSSESSION FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS PRIOR TO RELOCATION. POSSESSIONS CAN BE SENT ALL AT ONCE OR IN SEPARATE SHIPMENTS. THE POSSESSIONS MUST BE SENT WITHIN A 12 (TWELVE) MONTH PERIOD FROM THE DATE THE FIRST SHIPMENT WAS RECEIVED BY POLISH CUSTOMS.

International Relocation

The following items are subject Customs, even if they are part of the relocation process:

  • Alcohol,
  • Tobacco and tobacco products,
  • Commercial transportation vehicles,
  • Professional craft tools and other portable equipment necessary for continuing the profession.

ALL POSSESSIONS BEING SENT AS PART OF THE RELOCATION MUST BELONG TO THE RELOCATING INDIVIDUAL AND MUST HAVE BEEN IN THEIR POSSESSION FOR AT LEAST 6 MONTHS PRIOR TO RELOCATION. POSSESSIONS CAN BE SENT ALL AT ONCE OR IN SEPARATE SHIPMENTS. THE POSSESSIONS MUST BE SENT WITHIN A 12 (TWELVE) MONTH PERIOD FROM THE DATE THE FIRST SHIPMENT WAS RECEIVED BY POLISH CUSTOMS.

Exemptions from customs duties are granted only for possessions listed as part of the relocation process. These possessions cannot be sold by the relocating individual for 12 (twelve) months after the relocation date specified in Customs. If any of the above conditions are violated, customs duties will be immediately applied to the possessions according to the rates at that time.
